DeHart to present research on NASA 2020 Mission to Mars
NASHVILLE, Tennessee – NASA will present new research dedicated to putting man on Martian soil. Occupational Health Associates and Vanderbilt University host DeHart on March 25, 2015, in Light Hall at 5 p.m.
Leading aerospace researcher, Roy L. DeHart, M.D., spearheads the effort to put man on the red planet and will present research conducted in cooperation with Vanderbilt University and NASA.
“This research has been incredibly important to me, and being able to present research in conjunction with NASA researchers at the Johnson Space Center is very special,” DeHart said. DeHart’s new research is just the start of an exciting new program designed to rejuvenate the space industry and conquer new frontiers.
“NASA has been toying with the idea of sending a manned mission to Mars for the past two decades. Robots and rovers are a great start; however, putting man on the surface would greatly benefit our understanding of the planet,” DeHart said. He added, “The health risks and logistics are great challenges, but I believe NASA’s dedicated team of scientists and astronauts are more than equal to the task.”
